I haven’t posted in a while as during the summer, Tottenham had become a laughing stock and I thought it would be best if I stayed clear of any football/Spurs related forums until we got our act together. However, after the appointment of AVB and our reasonably positive start to the season bar Norwich, West Brom, and the Juan Mata show last weekend, I’m now sitting quite steadily knowing that our immediate future is in safe hands. I was delighted to see us sign Dembele, a player who I had constantly wished to see don the white of Tottenham. Moreover, with the addition of Vertonghen as well as the permanent deal for Adebayor, I feel we are well equipped for battle at least until January if anything goes pear-shaped. I enjoyed my greatest day as a Spurs fan at Old Trafford where I witnessed the most unbelievable of results and left Manchester that weekend thinking that the result was the perfect springboard for success and that under AVB, with Levy’s backing, we could be some force.

I honestly only have one outstanding issue at the moment. Despite the press reports (mainly french) that have tried to establish a meteoric problem between Lloris and the club, the last couple of days have seen areas of the press latch on to an Adebayor story that quite frankly doesn’t exist and as a result, has infuriated me. I have just watched an interview with AVB on SSN asking him about the rumours that Adebayor wants to leave in January after a lack of opportunities. First of all, he joined us lacking match fitness and then carried a hamstring injury not to mention the goal-scoring form of Defoe. In the interview AVB could have clearly stated that Adebayor wasn’t fit enough to play when he first signed and that his omission from the side was a result of JD’s form. As a result of AVB winning yet another media battle, I salute him for once again defending individuals who the press are trying to cause unrest with. Everything Andre has said so far this season has remained positive and rightly so. Our stylish new boss has settled well and because of that the press can’t slaughter him so have tried to create issues that actually aren’t evident. He has dismissed any negativity directed at the club as pure speculation and I 100% believe him. “Oh Adebayor and Lloris on the bench again he must be really unhappy” NO!! They understand AVB’s project which is why they signed for us! You can’t put holes in our boat, which right now is travelling with very strong sails and I am very confident that after an indifferent start, under a NEW manager, Spurs are ready to really challenge again and I’m delighted.
