Harry Redknapp’s side make easy work of Bournemouth in pre-season opener.
Robbie Keane returned in a Tottenham shirt, but it was strike partner Roman Pavlyuchenko who stole the show in a 4-0 win at Bournemouth, kicking off Harry Redknapp’s pre season preparations with a comfortable victory.
Keane, who spent the end of last season on loan at Celtic, played the first half but could not get on the scoresheet, with strike partner Jonathan Obika taking advantage of a defensive mishap to open the scoring after 36 minutes before two second half goals in a not much more than a minute made life more comfortable for Harry Redknapp’s Champions League hopefulls.
Roman Pavlyuchenko scored in the 61st minute after good work from Andros Townsend, the pair then combined again a minute later to set up Danny Rose for the third.
Spurs hit the woodwork twice through Adel Taarabt and Townsend, before Pavlyuchenko grabbed his second 16 minutes from time after latching onto a long ball from Younes Kaboul.
The only disappointing aspect for Spurs was the sight of David Bentley limping off in the first half through injury.
