Redknapp shows an interest in Sporting front man …..

Spurs target ? ..... Lisbon's Djalo

The agent of Sporting Lisbon forward Yannick Djalo has revealed that Spurs and Newcastle Utd are battling it out for the Portuguese forward’s signature this summer.

24-year-old Djalo, who can also operate as a winger, is highly rated by the Portuguese club.

But financial worries at the club mean they may now be forced to sell their most valuable asset.

The striker’s agent Lionel Silva has revealed that there has been concrete interest from England, with Harry Redknapp an admirer of the  portuguese youngster.

“The two clubs are interested” agent Silva said.

“But we have not reached an understanding with regard to price. We have to wait a little longer.

“He (Djalo) fancies the idea of going to England, because playing in the English Premier League is a dream for most players.

“But while there is not total agreement on a deal, Yannick has to report to work (at Sporting) every day.”

Personally, I’m not sure how much truth there is in this one. Sounds a bit like the agent is trying to spark a bidding war and drive his client’s price up. However he does look a decent player and you would imagine he could do a job for us during the course of the season. Whether he’s got the potential to become a fixture in the side and compete at Champions League level is up to Harry to decide!

What do you think?

  1. What a load of old bollocks. Agent no doubt trying to up his price.

“Spurs and Newcastle” ooooh, he must be good then!

  2. This must be about the eleventh striker we’ve been linked with over the last couple of months. This one though, I’ve never heard, so we probably will get him. What happened to us signing one world class striker?

  3. Never heard of him. Redknapp hasn’t either probably. Nonsense.

  4. Redknapp loves to bring in an unknown and watch them shine ….. don’t be surprised if this one happens, it’s his type of deal! I just hope he remembers he’s not at Pompey or West Ham now and we can attract already established stars!
