Harry Redknapp is looking to land Birmingham City keeper Ben Foster as a replacement for Heurelho Gomes.

Foster has been in impressive form for Birmingham this season and Harry see’s the 28-year old as a reliable replacement for Gomes who he has lost confidence in after a string of costly errors in big games which have seen Spurs Champions League hopes fade away. Errors against Chelsea and Blackpool have cost Tottenham valuable points. Redknapp is looking to offload Cudicini and Pletikosa in the summer and start from scratch in the goalkeeping department.

Ben Foster joined Birmingham this season after a long spell as Manchester United number 2 and has enjoyed his first season at St Andrews. Harry would face problems convincing Foster to leave as the England man insists he is happy at Birmingham. Redknapp had also looked at Rob Green but believes Foster shows greater potential.

  1. This worries me, he has no doubt been excellent this season. However failed at one big club, and has shown lapses of concentration. Surely it has to be Given, who apparently Man City might be willing to offload to us. He would also be the cheaper option. COYS
