Well according to Sunday’s News Of The World, Tottenham will be lining up a move for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi if Klaas-Jan Huntelaar falls through.

Rossi is valued at around £8million and recently scored a hat-trick against us for Villarreal in a friendly, he looked to have learned a lot since his Manchester United days. Both Daniel Levy and Harry Redknapp share the hunger to bring in a new striker before transfer deadline day on Tuesday evening.

Personally I would rather take the punt on Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, would love for us to give him a break in the Premiership and hopefully he can live up to his potential. I think the number 1 choice for Spurs is with out a doubt Luis Fabiano but Sevilla are playing hardball for the forward, they demand in excess of £25million for a player who is around the 30 mark and only has one year left on his contract.

Giuseppe Rossi has a decent strike rate since he moved to Italy and then to Spain and the availability of the forward is interesting Harry. I would be surprised if we didn’t bring in a forward especially after the Wigan result, a top class finisher could be the difference between winning and losing. Personally I wouldn’t rate Rossi above Crouch, Pav, Defoe or Keane but come Tuesday evening I expect Keane to be gone and another forward in his place, the question remains, who?

  1. GIUSEPPE ROSSI IS A POTENTIAL SIGNING – YOUNG & TALENTED – VALUE 8MIL – COULD REPLACE ROBBIE KEANE WHILE KLASS JAN HUNTELAAR ALSO A GOOD ADDITION TO THE SQUAD – THE 4 STRIKER /FORWARD – DEFOE,CROUCH,ROSSI & HUNTELAAR.

  2. it WILL be huntelaar, milan have signed ibrahimovic on loan and that will free them up to loan huntelaar to spurs, i do have a feeling that fabiano will join also giving us a front line of crouch, defoe, KJH and fabiano, think pav will be sold or loaned.

  3. Rossi is more of an ideal striker, much better finisher (illustrated by his hatrick against us in pre-season); He’s younger and more hungrier and the type of striker we need – KJH is just another Ajax brandname that’s been passed around more than a crack whore – roughly 20 appearances for madrid and milan and only scored a measley 8 goals… Quite poor to only score 8 goals when you’ve got ammunition such as that of R.Madrid. KJH is another lazy striker with no hunger, we don’t need another carbon copy of Pav; Rossi all the way! p.s. KJH soon to sign a deal with Schalke for 14 mill!

  4. KJH for Ajax 92 App – 76 Goals; Kezman – PSV Eindhoven 122 app – 105 goals <<< Even Dirk Kuyt was prolific in the dutch league! Enough said.

  5. In order to upgrade the team’s level all we really need are players with strong personality and winner’s mentality. Every new player we buy must has these two characteristics.

  6. Harry is hoping to go away with his wife for a few days he said in a bbc interview.

So if all these deals are more than just paper talk they had better get moving.

Not impressed with all the last minute cloak and dagger stuff. Does not help us score against Wigan or City if we buy a striker on deadline day does it.
