Harry Redknapp is expecting Gareth Bale to play against Sunderland at the weekend after his latest injury. It comes at a great time for the Spurs boss after suffering injuries to Luka Modric and most recently Van der Vaart picking up an injury in the Bolton game at the weekend.

Bale limped off against Newcastle a few weeks ago with a bad back and has been out ever since but last week started training with the first team again. The Bolton game came too soon for Harry to consider Bale in the team and will instead look to the clash at the Stadium Of Light as Bale’s return fixture. With other players out injured, Harry will need to make the decision whether to gamble and include Bale from the start of to put him on the bench.

Niko Kranjcar who scored the winning goal at the weekend would have probably been in contention for a place in the team but it won’t be on the left if Bale is back. Bale is however sitting out the midweek game for Wales against the Republic Of Ireland, Harry didn’t want him involved in an international so soon and the decision was made not to include Bale.

Niko Kranjcar, a player we all love to watch on his day, he is comfortable on the ball, has good vision, can pick out a decent pas, chips in with his share of goals and assists and seems to posses more ability to win us a game than some of our other players but yet is well down the pecking order in the eyes of Harry Redknapp but is it the same for the fans? I think not!

Fair enough when our midfield is fit and we have Bale,Modric,Hudd,Lennon and even Van der Vaart then maybe Niko should be on the bench. For me though when one of these guys is injured he should be the next player called upon, sure he has his quiet games but tell me one player that doesn’t.

Niko scored 7 goals for us last season, I can’t understand when he can be a threat why he hardly gets a game. Pav is starting to get frustrated that he can’t get a look in when the other strikers ain’t scoring goals and he does, it’s not long before Niko says the same and wants out. Niko came on yesterday and won us the game, he done more in his time on the pitch than Pienaar did, so why is Pienaar now ahead of Kranjcar? Pienaar is only ever going to get 2 or 3 goals a season.

Other clubs have picked up on the possibility that Kranjcar would be available, most notably Liverpool and whoever gets him in the summer will grab a real bargain. He scored the winner yesterday with a stunning goal but will probably find himself on the bench next time again because thats the way Harry operates, just ask Pavlyuchenko.

Is Kranjcar being harshly treated? does he deserve more first team action?

Let me take you all the way back almost 4 years to a cold November. It was a sunday afternoon and I was sitting in the pub ready to watch Tottenham take on Chelski at the Lane.

It had been 16 years since our last league win over the blues but could this be our moment to shine?Well when Chelsea took the lead through a long range Makelele strike it looked a case of the same old story for us Spurs fans, I believed it was a case of being over optimisitc again only to be let down when we play a top 4 team, and then this happend……

Well when Lennon found the back of the net with probably his best taken goal to date I was estatic, I couldn’t believe that a team like Chelsea who hadn’t lost a game after taking the lead for god knows how long had finally lost that record and to my beloved Tottenham. Dawson with a great header to make it 1-1 and then great work from Keane to cross it for Lennon who i’m sure we all thought was going to just belt it first time but to my amazment he took it back inside and made the Chelsea defence look like mugs before he buried it past Petr Cech.  Great match, was well chuffed with the performance and the character shown to come from behind.
