Modrić going nowhere!
Luka Modric’s agent, Mario Mamic, is today the third major figure to declare that the Croatian magician will be staying at Spurs after telling Croatian newspaper Jutarnji List “Luka will not go to Manchester United and he will also stay at Tottenham because I know that president Daniel Levy will not let him go”.
Daniel Levy and Luka himself have also stated that he is staying at Spurs and that he is happy, not to mention that he is on a 6 year contract. Hopefully this can put an end to the Daily Mail spurting rumours and trying to coerce Modric to leave.
Some of the figures being mentioned for Modric’s services would also be daylight robbery. Mamic’s father, vice-president of Dinamo claimed “I heard that somebody has offered £20m pounds for Luka but that’s crazy. When we talk about Modric, that price would only be enough to buy peanuts”.
I, like almost all Spurs fans absolutely do not want Modric to leave as I believe he is our best player by far; and certainly not for silly season sums like £20m. If Lescott for £24m is anything to go by, then Modric must be worth 5 times that! Torres, the £50m man…that scored once…against West Ham…when it was so wet the defenders couldn’t stand up, would surely match Modric’s value and I would be shocked if a bid of less than £50m was accepted for Luka.
Personally I would not accept any offer from Modric and continue to state that he is not for sale at any price, but would you sell him if a high enough offer came in and what would you sell him for if so? Comments and Opinions?
