So after a thriller in Holland, Tottenham come through as group winners. A thrilling 3-3 draw was enough to see Tottenham win group A after reigning champions Inter Milan lost away to Werder Bremen.

I am adding the goals below, keep coming back because I will update them over the next hour with all the action.

Tottenham winners of group A at the first attempt, proud of the lads. Two negatives were Jenas and Kranjcar had to both come off injured.

Tottenham set a new record of being the only club to score at least 2 goals in all their group games.

  1. How much did ManC offer for Bale? 60 mil? TAKE IT!
And give them Pav as a free bonus.

  2. beetle is a sucker it aint your money so why you care?keep our best players theyll only av to replace him its a waste of time not broke dont fix it

  3. That was a shit display and we will get a spanking soon If harry can’t get us to defend better, Why do we back off so much. Corluka is a tug boat and too slow. defoe finally got of the mark even though they were put on a plate. Thought Kranj played well in CM. More bloody injuries! Gomes who I rate very highly has not looked him self this season and letting goals in he would normaly save. Keane came on and showed he still is a good player to help us retain the ball. Hoping we get a Spanish or Italian side as I will be there. COYS!!

  4. suckermcs,
60 mil is a lot of money. I doubt we’ll ever get more offered for Bale. For this money we can get Marin and Djeko, ffs. One great winger and one of the best strikers today, and both young. With them we’d be much stronger.

On another note, go fuck yourself.

    • Its all very well having the money to buy these players, what about their wages, where does that money come from?

      • If that is the case, why oh why are we wasting our breath calling on Spurs to get a world class striker in coming January? Do you think that any one of them will be content with “what we can pay”?

        • How about we keep bale, sell keane n pav n buy suarez n ibesevic! We also need a cm’der to protect our defence although we unbeleivably unluucky with injuries there at the mo. I got slated on here the other week for suggesting that gomes is dodgy so far this season and that we should go for shay given!

          • By all means if Levy will open his purse. I also don’t think that Gomes is a world beater. While his reflex saves are hard to match, he seems scared and insecure in his box. Almost every floating cross he watches frozen on the line, resolved to rely on his reflexes. Yeah, S. Given would be the way to go, but I don’t thing ManC will let him join us.

  5. beetleblues you are a sad deluded wanker. bale is 21!! he has said he will at least see through the end of his contract (hope he signs a new one). he will continue to improve. id prefer someone who is 21 and continuing to get better than someone who is already at their best when they will slowly decline.
anyway, hope we get a striker come january and maybe a tweak or 2 here and there. bongani khumalo will be good because he is captain his current club i believe and people have said hes great. he just has to settle and then hell be great i hope. hes 23, another young one.
if BAE keeps it simple hes good otherwise he sucks. andros townsend plays in bale’s position. i hope he plays LB too because then we will have a good LB because on another post coxie said hes coming around good

  6. Thought Twente”s best performer was the ref who was a disgrace (though personally i got no complaints about the penalty).Cant help but think we could do better than Gomes in goal..??COYS

  7. We need to tighten up the defence on away games or we are SCREWED if we get AC Milan.
If we get the 1st leg at home, we are screwed. We didn’t win a single away game in the group stage.

Almost did it at Bremen, but sat back and let two goals in. Not good enough in a competition like this I’m afraid. Harry, get the players to think of the away game as a home game.

  8. As long as we play Hutton, Gallas and hopefully soon Dawson I think our defence is fine. Now that Defoe is back Bale can give him perfect balls to slot away and we still have Crouch to win the headers and slides. Gomes had a bit of a shaky match but I think his performances recently have been brilliant – he very nearly saved both penalty attempts for a start.
