Looking at the fixtures we have coming up it would suggest the next 6 or 7 weeks will define our season and show the rest of the league just how far we have come. We slipped up yesterday against Wolves which was a bad result but it happens and that’s just football, we haven’t had many of them this season which is why we are where we are but the bookies are starting to write us off as in the week you could have got Premier League odds of 3/1 which have now dropped to 12/1 since the Wolves result.

Our next 5 away matches are:

Sunday, 22 January 2012
Barclays Premier League
Man City v Tottenham, 13:30
Monday, 6 February 2012
Barclays Premier League
Liverpool v Tottenham, 20:00
Sunday, 26 February 2012
Barclays Premier League
Arsenal v Tottenham, 13:30
Saturday, 10 March 2012
Barclays Premier League
Everton v Tottenham, 15:00
Saturday, 24 March 2012
Barclays Premier League
Chelsea v Tottenham, 15:00

There are some tough away matches to come and in the middle of all that you can throw in a home match against Manchester United. If we really are title contenders then you have to go to some of the big teams and beat them. The players will need to believe, we are capable of picking up points against these teams now, we beat Arsenal and Liverpool away last season because we  played to our strengths and attacked.

January and February will shape our season into either a race for the title or a bid to stay in the top four, I used to fear these type of matches but now I relish them, it’s what being a top team is all about.
