Fair enough we lost to one of the country’s top teams yesterday but watching the performance there was a few reasons why we will still struggle to get an away win against one of the top teams.

Firstly even at 1-0 down the players didn’t ask enough questions of Manchester United, it’s almost like they lacked the self belief that they were good enough to get a point, you could almost see the belief go out of the players the moment Van der Vaart walked off the pitch.

Secondly, we don’t have a settled team this year, apart from our midfield we have different strikers and different defenders playing each game. Yesterday it was Kaboul and Gallas and to my amazement I though Gallas actually had the better game for once. The trouble is we have to settled pairing this season which will always cost you goals, no matter how good the defenders are if they aren’t a settled pair then goals will be shipped in.

The biggest problem and it’s there for all to see, our strikers just are not good enough to threaten the top teams, Pav is the best we have but personally I don’t think Crouch and Keane are good enough anymore. We all said it all summer long that we needed a top striker. I can understand why Harry likes a 4-5-1 with the team he has got but he needs to understand while that is all well and good he needs to have a striker in the Spurs team who can actually play the lone striker role. Defoe is a great striker but I don’t even think he is cut out for a lone role. Yesterday we started with one up top which was Robbie Keane but the end of the game we had Crouch and Pav up front. This needs to be addressed in January, I now believe that Levy and Redknapp can see that they made a big mistake not buying a striker in January.

  1. I think the issues is that we have some alright strikers but none of them are outstanding, they all do just about enough for everyone to think cannot sell them (well we have sold Crouch and Defoe before). They all have their strengths and if we did a bit of genetic engineering and combined them together we would have a decent striker. I don’t think that Luis Fabiano was the answer but someone who has the same build and talent who would easily adapat to the Premiership would. The current lot have obvious weaknesses and without having Defoe we don’t have anyone who seems just to be on the pitch for goals (pav has too many brainmelt moments for me). Good alround striker please, don’t have to break the bank, and please for the love of god sell Keane, Crouch and Pav.

  2. I THINK THAT SPURS HAS SOME ISSUES AT THE CENTREBACK BECAUSE IT’S STILL VERY WEAK ALTHOUGHT YOUNES KABOUL & WILLIAM GALLAS FORM APARTNERSHIP BUT IT’S LACK A LEADER LIKE LEDLEY KING TO GUIDE ANYWAY I’M HOPING THAT NEW SIGNING BONGANI KHUMALO CAN ADAPT TO THE ATMOSPHERE AT WHL ALSO BEING TOUTED AS THE PLAYER TO REPLACE LEDLEY KING IN NEAR FUTURE PLUS I’M DISAPOINTED THAT SEBASTIEN BASSONG DID’NT START AT MAN.UTD.THE MIDFIELD I SAW THAT AARON LENNON & GARETH BALE UNABLE TO SHOW THEIR TALENTED WING DISPLAY AGAINST MAN.UTD SUBDUE BY RAFAEL & PATRICE EVRA ALSO JERMAINE JENAS HAS A BAD GAME WITH BAD PASSES SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACE BY SANDRO ALSO TOM HUDDLESTONE IS INJRED.THE FORWARDS SPURS NEEDED TO BRING 1 OR 2 NEW PLAYERS INTO THE TEAM GET RID OF ROBBIE KEANE & ROMAN PAVLYUCHENKO & I HOPING THAT SPURS SIGNING FC UTRECHT ‘ S HOLLAND INT’L RICKY VAN WOLFSWINKEL & PSV EINDHOVEN’S SWEDEN INT’L OLE TOIVONEN AS THE NEW STRIKER TO PARTNER JERMAIN DEFOE OR PETER CROUCH COME JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW.

  3. I think it is time for us to all realise where we are and where we are going, after 10 games last year we had 19 points, and that included playing, Manure, chelski and Liverpool. After 20 games we had 39 pts. This year we are down 4 points on last years total after 10 games, I can only put it down to 3 things, our inclusion in the Champions league, the fact Defoe has been out plus no Dawson at the heart of the defence. For me this year was all about finishing in the top four again, and currently we are only 2 points off the pace. Our next 10 fixtures include 5 home and 5 away games including Liverpool, Chelski and the scum, with some tricky away fixtures we need to be aiming at getting at least 20 points out of a possible 30 from these next ten games. Then opens the January transfer window. The big question is where are we going to get a world class striker from in January? answer on a post card please. With Pav being our best striker over the past 3 years ( goals per minutes played ) we are struggling up top. I think if we can grab the 4th spot again this year then maybe next year we will have a better chance of competing with the likes of Manure and Chelski

  4. We need a top striker badly. I have not been convinced by any of our performances this season, we are lucky to be where we are, we could conceivably be still looking for our first premiership victory as we have been lucky in our victories so far…
We are well able to keep the ball but unable to open many clear cut chances and it needs to be sorted ASAP or were all in for a dissapointing season…

  5. I have been saying it all along. Our striking force is not sharp enough and this is why we are not getting the results that we deserve. New blood up front is needed.
