Both Tottenham and Arsenal are set to lock horns in a transfer battle for Diego Milito of Inter Milan according to The Sun.

Milito is unhappy at Inter’s poor form and is said to have his heart set on a move to England. Tottenham would need to pinch 4th place to have any chance of landing Milito who scored both goals in last seasons Champions League final.

Milito has scored 27 in 53 appearances for Inter and could be allowed to leave for as little as £5m and England is where he wants to play. Arsene Wenger wants a striker who he can pair with Robin van Persie and Harry Redknapp wants a striker who knows where the back of the net is.

  1. A striker who scores goals, phew! What a novelty. 3 goals on Wednesday and again they were from the midfielders.

  2. I think we should turn the tables on these italian teams and take a few players from them.Milito is a very good striker and could do a good job as one of our strikers and why not take Eto and try and get Drogba from Cheski.Could be a top top old old strike force.

  3. £10 million for Drogba, £6 million for Milito.

  4. Like hell Milito would be sold for 5 million. Spend 20 odd on Hulk after selling the Garden Gnome, Pav, Kranc, O’Hara, Hutton, Keane, Gio and Gomes the clown. That’s ‘streamlining’ if you ask me. Allow Crouch to stay so ‘Arry can have his man-crush still…

  5. I’d rather Eto’o if I’m honest, but anything is better than Defoe and Pav at the moment. Over the years we’ve had 4 good strikers as a rule, generally creating selection and happiness within the squad. As much as I think Keane has been a legend over his career with us, it’s a shame that his time has definitely been called, Pav although the most prolific of our strikers at present still isn’t the answer and the lack of learning English is a sign of his commitment to the cause maybe, plus Harry hasn’t really put his true faith in him. Defoe if he doesn’t go will at least try and is ok to come on from the bench, but for me crouch is our only definite keeper for his difference, he offers a different dynamic in certain games.

  6. Hulk, falcao, eto, llorente, lukaku and rossi are what we should be going for. Milito is good but he is injury prone. Pav is rubbish, a donkey at best and he has to go along with keane and defoe.

  7. get rid of crouch and bring in a big man who isn’t absolutely embarrassing, Milito would do…We have one world class striker(Pav) and 3(including Keane) who are just shockingly awful.
