It seems like Jermain Defoe is on everyone’s shopping lists!! I am a huge fan of Defoe and moving away from Tottenham is probably the best move for his career. With Soldado being the preferred striker for AVB, Defoe is not getting the playing time he should. The list of potential suitors he has is growing everyday too. Defoe will be keen to get some playing time and score goals in a bid to secure his place for the World Cup in Brazil.

A move to Toronto to play in the MLS seemed certain a couple of days back, now however Fulham and West Ham seem to keen to snap him up. With Fulham struggling to fight relegation I do not really see him moving there and the big question with West Ham is whether they are willing to pony up the coin necessary to keep Defoe.

With Defoe sure to move away from the Spurs and Morato being poached by goddamm Arsenal, Villa-Boas will be desperate to sign Guiseppe Rossi. Even if it costs him an arm and a leg. On current form and the Spurs’s goal scoring form, he looks to be worth it!

  1. ahh Huffffff… I am bored of rubbish.

We will NOT be signing Rossi. Especially for £30m after he”s just receovered form injury and just got settled and playing in his new team,…

As for Defoe. I would pack his suitcase for him and drop him off at the station!

We need to get Ade fit and firing. We should never have signed him, but nwo we have, he needs to play!! – He’s the only bloke in the squad that can play up top on his own!!!!

Our striker situation is still a mess and our fullback situation isn’t far behind, if not worse!!!!!

  3. JD is a player I love to watch – when he’s firing on all cylinders. But when was the last time that happened? He’s been good in the Europa but in the limited Prem action he’s been involved in (and the League Cup game against Hull) he’s looked uncharacteristically off the pace. His last goal in the Prem was a beauty – against City at home. For me, he’s still a good substitute but if he wants to move on we shouldn’t stand in his way. There’s always a point where people have to move on to make way for others. Kane I hear is injured; but to me he’s constantly improving and played very well against Hull in his sub appearance.

  4. Defoe is not all that, he has only averaged 13 goals a season in the last 5 seasons, Defoe moans he is not getting enough playing time to play for England but its not the quantity of his minutes but the quality, yes we see Defoe score goals but only against the lesser teans, have you ever seen him score against any of the big boys, Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, and when he does play for England its always against the lesser teams in friendlies and has only scored against lesser international sides, Defoe and Spurs fans need to wake up and realise that Defoe is an average striker at best, and as Adebayor I hope I never see him in a Spurs shirt again, there are still 3 players at Spurs whose days are numbered, Dawson has not pace and has a mistake a game in him, Defoe because ge does score enough, and Adebayor because he is just utter crap. Walker needs to stop making mistakes by giving the ball away in dangerous areas something which has happened more than once as he has a bright future

  5. Defoe leaving THFC in January would only be good for Defoe. I can understand him wanting to leave and make a strong impression with another team (and Roy Hodgson). And there are several teams that he could walk into.
I think it would be damaging to Spurs though. IF Defoe goes, we absolutely must and probably will buy another striker. That striker will, in all likelihood, come from outside the Premier League. And so we’d be taking another massive (and expensive) gamble on another player that needs the required time to adjust to everything a move over here requires. Which is the exact same problem that Soldado, Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli and even Holtby are still acclimatising to.
So what would be the point?! Yes Defoe has lost some form. But if he had more minutes, he would find the net. He has proven he has the credentials to be a Premier League striker, and an England International. He doesn’t have all that he had before..but he still has something to offer. Would Rossi be able to drop into the team in mid-January and offer the same threat? I doubt it. And with his injury-prone background, has he built up the strength and resilience to withstand the pace of the EPL. I doubt it.
I feel that this ‘search for a better striker’ is necessary. But lets not get carried away that we don’t already possess some quality in our squad.
I think Defoe will get his chances throughout December. I reckon he’ll score a couple of important PL goals. And come January, we’ll be hoping that any deals for him do not go through and we keep hold of a player that still has a part to play in Spurs’ season.

and imo.. the same should NOT apply to Ade. that fucker has taken the piss out of us, and we should sell him for the peanuts he’s worth. he’s just a poor excuse of a professional.
