Today we host Italian giants Fiorentina in our last friendly match before the start of the Premiership next saturday. It’s a 3pm kick off and I expect nothing less than a win. It looks like Defoe will not feature in today’s match due to claims by Harry he has suffered a groin strain, now whether this is true or whether Harry just wants to convince Capello that Defoe is injured so he doesn’t feature in midweek for England is another matter.

The Team will be pretty much like the Benfica game with a lot of changes made in the second half so most of the boys get a run out. Hopefully Harry gives a few of the youngsters a good run out again, the likes of Walker and Townsend have impressed so far. I would love to see Lennon have a decent game because I don’t think he has been the same player since returning from his injury last season and I would love to see another good performance from Gio, if he comes good this season it will be like a new signing for us.

The match is live in the Triffic Tottenham forum as always so if you haven’t signed up yet then do so >>HERE<<. Hopefully it will be a solid team performance and a good win at the end of it. Make no mistake about it, Fiorentina are no mugs and if we are not up for it then they could easily snatch a win. Not sure if this is live on the Bet365 site, some have been so if you want a better quality stream it might be worth clicking the Bet365 banner to the left and checking it out.

Last friendly and then it’s down to serious business with an opening day match agaisnt Manchester City and then the small matter of a Champions League qualifier to contend with, it should prove to be an interesting couple of weeks for us all.

  1. As you say this should be another good test for the team, and great way to blow the last of those Villarreal cobwebs out of the system.

  2. you seriously underestimate fiorentina friend

  3. well I for one never wanted keane to leave.. Now that he is showing us his old self, I really feel he is not forced to move on, or transferred to get some funds. I just believe keane will be our main threat in CL. He will bang in goals. Keano has got his confidence back . I am so happy. And all those people who mock him all the time, please open the top ten EPL scorers of all time. Please this guy is a proven striker, and his work rate is pretty good. He runs back wins the challenges gets other people into play and leads by example. He is an asset. And I am proud to be a Keane fan. both the Keanes actually
