This will not come as a surprise to many Spurs fans but the latest development regarding the future of Jonathan Woodgate is apparently a last ditch operation being carried out abroad, hopefully not involving the use of ‘horse’ parts?
Sources are reporting Harry Redknapp sees this operation as Woody’s last chance to resume his injury littered career. Recent activity by the club in attempting to strengthen in that area seems to suggest they fear the worst with regard to Jonathan’s future. Ledley Kings’ situation is well documented and it looks like the club have lost patience waiting for the matter to resolve itself given that we cannot afford to have both our best centre backs missing for an indeterminable period.
Those close to Woody believe he is very close to calling it a day, which if happens would bring the curtain down on the career of a player who could have been one of greatest defenders ever if it weren’t for the plague of his injuries. If by some miracle the operation is a success we can look forward to the return of an accomplished defender for half a dozen more seasons if we’re lucky. Realistically though it is highly likely he has had enough of coming under the surgeon’s and will finally call time, in any case GOOD LUCK WOODY!
